• The storm has also been felt in other parts of the country. Justus Boo from Bomet reported similar conditions: "The rain situation is also being experienced in Bomet." In Ngong, Nairobi, Nyaboke mentioned light drizzles during her morning commute: "I had a journey from home to Nairobi town, and the light rain saved me for the morning hours."
On September 3, 2024, Nakuru experienced a heavy downpour that caused minor floods, overflowing pathways, and sadly, took one life. Water levels in low-lying areas rose quickly as a result of the fast and heavy rainfall that overwhelmed the drainage systems.

In a statement Deputy Commissioner of Nakuru West, Omari Ali, said: "It is true that last night we witnessed heavy rain here in Nakuru, and water was able to flow from Mount Menengai, spreading everywhere. We experienced one death where a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) rider was swept away by the water and died. His body has been taken by the police to the Nakuru morgue, and his motorcycle has also been taken to the police station."

He further explained the challenges posed by the flooding: "We have also observed a sinkhole that has formed, the soil has eroded, and it is approximately ten meters from Nakuru-Eldoret road near Eveready. This sinkhole is about forty meters long and fifteen meters deep. We are continuing to assess the damage, and if there is anyone who has suffered losses, we will try to assist them through the county and national government departments."

The rains have not only caused havoc within Nakuru city but also impacted its outskirts. James Kinuthia, a resident of Lando, recounted his experience: "The rain started as soon as I got home from work. I was surprised by the heavy rain and strong storm. It knocked down clothes that were hanging and even removed the pegs. I tried to turn on my jiko to get some warmth, but it was almost swept away by the storm."

Meanwhile, Yopweta Kipyator from Kiamunyi shared his ordeal: "The rain caught me while I was at the gym. I had to continue with my workout until the rain reduced. But when I was returning home, all the routes in Olivin were flooded, and people were walking through the floods. I had to help two women cross to the other side of the area. I was worried about children coming home from school and was concerned that something bad might happen."

The storm has also been felt in other parts of the country.

As Nakuru continues to deal with the aftermath of the floods, authorities urge residents to remain vigilant. Deputy Commissioner Ali called for caution: "Whenever we see any rain, even if it is light, let us avoid walking through the water. Know that we could lose lives. Please, if you see any dangerous situation, inform the government through our chiefs and police so that we can assist."
