The Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, Aden Duale, recently met with a delegation from the Saudi Arabian government, led by Dr. Abdul Karim Almutairi (Senior Advisor) and Eng. Reema Al-Ashgar (Manager - Nairobi) from the Clean Cooking Project. During this discussion, they explored Kenya's partnership with Saudi Arabia aimed at accelerating the adoption of clean cooking solutions through the distribution of LPG stoves.

As part of this collaboration, Kenya is set to receive a significant $20 million grant under the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI). This funding will enhance the nationwide distribution of LPG stoves, aligning with the Kenya Kwanza administration's BETA plan to promote climate action, improve public health, and support livelihoods.

“This initiative, apart from contributing to our environment conservation goals, also opens economic opportunities for women and youth,” Duale said in a statement.
