During a meeting with H.E. Bhupender Yadav, India's Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change on the sidelines of COP16, Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Aden Duale discussed India's innovative Green Credit Programme. This initiative partners with the private sector to promote environmental action and enhance community livelihoods.

The meeting also highlighted Kenya's ambitious 15-billion-tree initiative, which aims to achieve 30% tree cover by 2032.

“This initiative is a cornerstone of our restoration agenda under the leadership of H.E. President William Ruto. We explored various topics, including waste management strategies, circular economy initiatives, and collaborative opportunities. Kenya is committed to sustainability through frameworks like Extended Producer Responsibility and other waste regulations,” Aden Duale posted on X.
