• The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) also weighed in, highlighting the failure of Fay's Bistro to comply with previous improvement notices.

The Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry, Aden Duale, has ordered the immediate closure of Fay's Bistro in Kilimani, Nairobi, due to persistent noise violations.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, on October 20, 2024, Duale emphasized the seriousness of the situation, declaring, “The NEMA Director General, accompanied by the NEMA Police unit, is on-site to enforce the closure. Let this serve as a stern warning to all clubs operating in residential areas: any that continue to play loud music will face the same action. This impunity will not be tolerated!”

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) also weighed in, highlighting the failure of Fay's Bistro to comply with previous improvement notices.

“The Authority recognizes the mandate and role of the Nairobi City County Government in regulating noise as provided for in the Fourth Schedule of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. Your continued disregard for compliance has yielded no results,” NEMA stated. “You have failed to adhere to the improvement notices served, contrary to Section 137 of the Environmental Management and Coordination Act of 1999.”
