Following the official launch of the Nakuru County Agroecology Policy on December 10, 2025, the county recently convened the Agroecology Multi‑Stakeholder Forum, marking a decisive step in turning policy into coordinated, inclusive, and impactful action.
The forum drew participants from county and national government institutions, civil society organizations, farmer representatives, research and academic institutions, the private sector, and development partners. Together, they established a shared platform for collaboration and strategic engagement to advance agroecology across the county.
Stakeholders used the meeting to align efforts and strengthen partnerships supporting sustainable agricultural practices. According to the County Government, participants collectively mapped and documented all actors involved in agroecology, detailing their roles, mandates, and areas of intervention.
The forum also facilitated discussions on the creation of the Nakuru County Agroecology Multi‑Stakeholder Platform (MSP). Stakeholders developed Terms of Reference (ToRs) to guide coordination, governance, and accountability, ensuring the platform operates with clarity and transparency.

Crucially, participants jointly crafted a clear and actionable roadmap to drive the effective implementation of the Agroecology Policy. The roadmap aims to deliver tangible benefits to farmers, communities, and the wider county economy, while embedding sustainability into Nakuru’s agricultural future.
