• The CS has aligned Finland’s support for Kenya to the United Nations Security Council reforms, hinting at a united front in engagements at the United Nations (UN) and other global platforms.

Prime Cabinet Secretary (CS) Musalia Mudavadi, in the capacity of the CS for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, has acknowledged the six-decade diplomacy between Kenya and Finland. He has linked significant projects as flagship developments born of these relations, including the Lake Turkana Wind Power and the Menengai Geothermal Power Project.

“Kenya and Finland proudly mark six decades of diplomatic ties, a partnership built on shared values and fruitful collaboration in renewable energy, vocational training, and peacebuilding. Together, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones like the Lake Turkana Wind Power and the Menengai Geothermal Power Project, showcasing the true power of our cooperation,” Mudavadi stated.

The CS has aligned Finland’s support for Kenya to the United Nations Security Council reforms, hinting at a united front in engagements at the United Nations (UN) and other global platforms.

Mudavadi has further illuminated Kenya’s 2030 vision to position Nairobi as a Multilateral Diplomatic Hub, saying, “As we look to the future, I warmly welcome Finland’s support for Kenya’s bold vision to position Nairobi as a premier global multilateral hub.”

By dint of the felt presence of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Mudavadi has expressed his faith in the future of Kenya’s leadership in diplomacy and environmental stewardship.

“Together, we aim to expand United Nations operations, creating a unified office in Nairobi with over 20,000 staff under the umbrella of the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON),” he noted.

Mudavadi additionally stressed Kenya’s vow to nurture the collaborations with Finland towards shared prosperity, stating, “Kenya remains deeply committed to enriching the bonds of friendship with Finland and broadening our collaboration for the mutual prosperity of our countries.”
