- Do you know how human beings take time to recover from ailments? Similarly, the planet requires time to heal. We must not further harm it.
The planet is sick and in need of healing. However, humans should not seek quick fixes in a bid to reverse the effects. Contrary to the many interventions humans implement, Earth can self-heal over time.
Do you know how human beings take time to recover from ailments? Similarly, the planet requires time to heal. We must not further harm it.
How do we destroy the Earth? By cutting down trees, destroying habitats, and eventually exposing ourselves to the dangers that arise from ailing ecosystems.
Trees act as carbon sinks, absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Carbon is one of the many greenhouse gases contributing to global warming. Reducing these gases can significantly mitigate climate change.
Fun fact! According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), we need to achieve a reduction of 11.7 gigatons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year by 2030 to limit global warming effectively.

Human activities that contribute to global warming include deforestation, burning fossil fuels, and water pollution among others. Deforestation and fossil fuel combustion release significant amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Additionally, water pollution disrupts aquatic ecosystems and their role as carbon sinks and habitats for marine life.
If we stop cutting down trees and plant them at the same rate we remove them, we can enhance carbon absorption. When we do this, we allow nature to take the lead in healing itself.
