• From July 31, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and also the Rift Valley will experience showers and thunderstorms in a few places during the afternoon and night hours, with maximum temperatures around  30°C.

Kenya's Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast for different regions in the country for the five-day period ending August 3, 2024.

The July 29, 2024 forecast shows that Highlands East and West of Rift Valley, the South Eastern lowlands and the Rift Valley are expected to experience intermittent cool and cloudy conditions.

Additionally, rainfall is expected to continue over parts of the Highlands located East and West of the Rift Valley, North Western Kenya, the Rift Valley and the Coast.

From July 31, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, and also the Rift Valley will experience showers and thunderstorms in a few places during the afternoon and night hours, with maximum temperatures around 30°C.

For the Northwestern regions (Turkana and Samburu counties), rain will be experienced from July 31 to August 1 in the morning. August 2 and 3 are expected to have sunny intervals both in the morning and afternoon. During this period, the maximum temperatures will be around 30°C, with the lowest being 12°C.

The Highlands East of the Rift Valley, which includes Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi counties, will experience cloudy conditions breaking into sunny intervals in the morning hours with afternoon showers.

The North Eastern Region is expected to experience sunny intervals and cloudiness at night. The southeastern lowlands would mainly experience sunny intervals and cloudiness during the day with temperatures as low as 10°C.

Moreover, the coastal counties are expected to have sunny intervals with occasional showers.
