The Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, Hon. Aden Duale, and French Minister of State for Francophonie and International Partnerships, Mr. Thani Mohammed Soilihi, have presided over the unveiling of the new Kenya Forest Service (KFS) Digital Radio Network and Early Fire Detection facility in Nairobi.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Environment, the €22 million project, funded by the French government, aims to enhance KFS's capacity to respond effectively to forest fires across three key ecosystems: Mau, Aberdares, and Mt. Kenya, covering a total of 14 counties.

“The Euro 22 million project, funded by French Government seeks to strengthen KFS's capacity to respond to forest fires in three ecosystems including Mau, Aberdares and Mt Kenya covering 14 counties,” the Ministry of Environment said in a statement.
